The Iraqi Red Crescent - Who we are.

Back to Home

The Iraqi Red Crescent was founded in early 1932 by Mr. Arshad Al-A’omary, the Municipal Governor of Baghdad to create a Red Crescent organization. Two years later we joined the membership of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

Our goal has been to help the wounded without discrimination.

To protect life and health, to guarantee the respect of human dignity and to reinforce cooperation and permanent peace between the world’s people.

We do not discriminate between nationalities, races, religions or political groups. We aim to remove suffering. We do not take part in any hostile actions or in arguments related to political, religious, racial or ideological issues.
